The International Day of Peace on September 21, 2025 was commemorated by erecting and dedicating a Peace Pole in Rotary Centennial Park.
The Peace Pole bears the inscription “May Peace Prevail on Earth” in English, German, French, and Ojibwa, and serves as a powerful symbol of hope and unity. Rotary International has seen over 200,000 Peace Poles planted in 180 countries to promote a culture of peace and understanding. The installation of the Peace Pole also highlights Rotary International’s broader commitment to peace building which includes supporting peace fellowships and scholarships worldwide.
