On Saturday, September 27, 2025, the Club and community friends successfully completed a special service project by installing a Storybook Walk in the newly revitalized Klecha Park.
A Storybook Walk takes the pages of a children's picture book and places them on individual display posts along a walking path or trail. As families and visitors stroll through the park, they move from post to post, reading the story page by page. It turns a simple walk into an engaging adventure and brings the joy of reading into the natural environment. The inaugural book featured on the walk is "The Leaf Thief" by Alice Hemming and Nicola Stlater, a perfect selection for the fall season.
This project is a collaborative effort with the St. Clair Parks and Recreation Department and the St. Clair County Library which will periodically refresh the Storybook Walk by selecting and installing new featured books.
