The annual Turtle Race will be ran Sunday, September 13, 2026, at Rotary Centennial Park on the Pine River. This family-friendly event features entertainment, games, and 5,000 plastic turtles racing toward the finish line in a fun and colorful spectacle.
As the Rotary Club’s largest fundraiser, proceeds from the Turtle Race support a wide range of community initiatives, including student scholarships and books, literacy programs, efforts to combat food insecurity, mental health training for those who work with students, and city parks and beautification projects.
This year, proceeds will also help support an exciting new community improvement effort - the Palmer Park Trailhead project, which will include new restrooms and other amenities. Groundbreaking for the new Trailhead is scheduled for July 6, 2026.
Tickets can be purchased online (Turtle Race) or at participating businesses' turtle adoption centers. Prizes include $1,500 for first place, $1,000 for second, and $500 for third, along with many additional prizes.
